"Confession by In your Absence is a brilliant album that everyone should have in their CD collection. Not only are Jovid's vocals hauntingly beautiful but so is the music. The album, Confession, is dark and brooding but it pumps energy into from the speakers directly into your veins, like a rush of adrenaline.

The two best tracks, in my opinion, are How Much and Wounded.

How Much is a painfully beautiful acoustic ballad that will break your heart utterly and completely. And Wounded is an anthem for anyone who was ever in a toxic relationship."  -Swan, Parasite Gods, 3/12/06

"This debut from In Your Absence is one of the more eclectic mixes I've heard in some time, almost to the point of being difficult to describe. There are some heavy doses of Tones on Tail mixed wtih Nina Hagen and The Cranes. Team them up with Rozz Williams, and you come pretty close. The tracks "Pavement Like Glass", with its heavy tom-tom work, and the closing track, "Starfade", with its aching moments of shallow hope, are the shining moments of this well-produced and potent album. This album is available now and certainly worth picking up." - Poseidon, Gothic Beauty Magazine, January 2006

"Moody, stylish in your absence is Kansas' twister of a band poised to blow the rest of the world away with its powerful riffs, dark, brooding lyricism and the eclectic talents of its four members: Jovid's laudanum-laced vocals recall Garbage's Shirley Manson, providing the chill contrast to the aural layerings of Steve Migdol's soul-searing guitar work, Justin Brown's immensely inventive and caustic bassline and drummer Dan Herdman's primal barrage. Their resulting napkin demos defy stereotype-casting and push boundaries such as the tentative acoustic beginnings on "Nothing (All I Can Say)" give way to a schizoid fussilade taking the listener on a visceral joyride.

The startlingly raw intimacy of their songs hint at a precocious and auspicious debut. This is a band to watch---and listen out for."

"'Dark and moody' rock is the drug of the month for Kansas City's In Your Absence. The female-fronted band cites Garbage as an influence and plays a similarly jilted brand of sassy alt-rock."
